A rule says when something should happen (its conditions) and what happens (its actions).
  • Conditions must all be true for the rule to apply. Some look at the whole cart, such as the cart subtotal or the customer’s role. Others look at one line, such as the product’s category.
  • Actions change a line’s unit price (item actions) or take an amount off the whole cart (cart actions).

Order and stacking

Rules run from the lowest priority number to the highest, then by when they were created. Every matching rule’s actions apply in turn: 10% off, then 5% off, gives 14.5% off. Turn on Don’t combine with other rules to make a rule exclusive. If it is the first rule that matches, it is the only one that applies. If another rule already matched, the exclusive rule is skipped.

One price, one place

All Joinery plugins calculate prices through the core’s pipeline. That’s why prices never jump between plugins, and why the cart, checkout, Store API and the price preview endpoint always agree.

Prices rules start from

Rules start from the product’s own price, including WooCommerce sale prices. Cart conditions use the undiscounted subtotal and quantity, so rules don’t feed on each other’s discounts.
